Een jaar geleden verhoogde Microsoft de prijs van een aantal licenties. De prijswijzigingen gingen in op 1 maart 2022. Ons advies was toen om de jaarabonnementen v\u00f3\u00f3r dat moment te verlengen en zodoende de prijsstijging een jaar uit te stellen. Zie de eerdere blog<\/a>.
\nVeel van onze relaties volgen dit advies op. We zijn nu een jaar verder, oftewel, de prijsstijging van vorig jaar wordt bij de eerstvolgende licentieverlenging toegepast.
\nMaar dat is helaas niet alles.<\/p>\n

Algehele prijsstijging van 11% voor vrijwel alle licenties van Microsoft<\/h3>\n

Door alle ontwikkelingen in de wereld zijn er flink wat schommelingen op de valutamarkt. De prijzen van Microsoft licenties lopen hierdoor in verschillende werelddelen nogal uiteen. Hier gaat Microsoft een einde aan maken door alle prijzen van licenties te baseren op de Amerikaanse Dollar (USD). Dit was al het geval bij de gebruikskosten van Azure. Vanaf 1 april past Microsoft dit ook toe op de prijzen van licenties (zoals Microsoft 365 en Dynamics 365).<\/p>\n

Het gevolg hiervan is dat de Euro prijzen van deze licenties per 1 april met 11% gaan stijgen.
\nZoals uit de inleiding af te leiden worden de meeste jaarabonnementen v\u00f3\u00f3r maart 2023 verlengd. Hierdoor past Microsoft deze nieuwe prijsstijging vaak pas in maart 2024 toe.
\nEchter, daar waar gebruik gemaakt wordt van maandabonnementen is de prijsstijging direct vanaf 1 april merkbaar.
\nMicrosoft heeft tevens gemeld dat de prijzen twee keer per jaar ge\u00ebvalueerd gaan worden op basis van de dollarkoers. Oftewel, prijswijzigingen gaan frequenter langskomen dan voorheen. Natuurlijk kunnen dit dan ook prijsdalingen zijn.<\/p>\n

Advies<\/h3>\n

Door de prijsstijging wordt het verschil tussen de prijzen van licenties in een maandabonnement en jaarabonnement nog groter. Zeker wanneer dit jaarabonnement v\u00f3\u00f3r 1 april aanstaande verlengd is. Als voorbeeld: een Office E3 licentie in een maandabonnement gaat rond de EUR 30,10 kosten, wat per jaar neerkomt op EUR 361,24. Dezelfde licentie in een jaarabonnement (v\u00f3\u00f3r 1 april verlengd) kost EUR 271,20 per jaar. Oftewel, een verschil van EUR 90 per jaar per gebruiker!
\nWe raden dan ook aan om de komende weken extra goed te beoordelen welke licenties per se in een maandabonnement moeten blijven en welke net zo goed in een jaarabonnement geplaatst kunnen worden.<\/p>\n
